Dr. 卡琳 Gaensler is a specialist in cancers of the blood who has a special interest in gene therapy. She is currently working to develop novel approaches for treating blood disorders caused by a specific gene mutation.

Gaensler earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF.

Gaensler has received numerous awards, including a fellowship from the American Cancer Society, a fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a physician-scientist award from the National Institutes of Health.

    Dr. Gaensler is an excellent heme onco.... She is not a warm and fuzzy type doc. However I have always got the impression that she is very smart and probably one of the best heme oncologists at UC (hopefully). She does not waste time during the appt.
