Dr. 米切尔D. 费尔德曼 is a general internal medicine physician who is committed to providing primary care with a focus on health promotion and prevention. He serves as chief of the UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine and the associate vice provost for UCSF Faculty Mentoring Program.

费尔德曼's research interests include mentoring in academic medicine as well as how institutions and providers may create or reduce barriers to high-quality depression treatment in primary care. His past research has focused on the influence of patient prompts (things patients say or ask) on physician behavior.

After attending Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree, 费尔德曼 earned his master of philosophy degree in medical anthropology from the University of Cambridge. He then obtained his medical degree at UCSF, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine.

    Another provider prescribed a medication with potential risks and side effects and asked me to discuss this with my PCP whom I saw in this visit. My PCP went online and spent a considerable amount of time obtaining information and discussing the issues with me. This convinced me that the risks were minimal and that I should not hesitate to start this medication which was much appreciated.
