Dr. 丽贝卡一. 伯曼 is a specialist in internal medicine who provides primary care. Her areas of interest include women’s health; health literacy, which involves the abilities to understand and apply health-related information; and caring for underserved populations.

As director of UCSF's internal medicine residency program, 伯曼 trains young doctors. Her academic work focuses on improving gender and racial equity in medicine; she has a particular focus on teaching negotiation skills with the goal of increasing the number of women and underrepresented minorities in health care leadership.

After earning a bachelor's degree in African and African American studies at Harvard University, 伯曼 earned her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she served as chief resident in her final year.

伯曼 is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

    我爱博士。. 伯曼. She really makes me feel like she is taking into consideration my whole complicated history each time I sit down with her. I know she's busy but she always makes me feel seen heard and cared for. I have seen many many doctors over the years and I will say this is not usually the case. I am so appreciative and would highly recommend Dr. 伯曼.

    Most of the conversation felt like a power struggle. First she tried to talk me out of the medication which I've been taking in infinitesimally small doses for 40 years. Then she tried to talk me into another medication that I do not handle well. And then she only filled the prescription for half the number I usually get because "She had never seen me before" which which seemed it relevant since she must've had access to my medical records and could see that my provider has indeed seen me before and consistently refilled with no problems. A disappointing experience to say the least.
